Derrick R. Clay is the President and CEO of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, where he champions prosperity and growth in the Columbus Region through strategic connections, resources, and advocacy. A respected leader with strong community ties and a track record in strategic development, Derrick is committed to advancing the Chamber's vision for a thriving Columbus economy.

Derrick's career began in the Ohio legislature, contributing to key legislative efforts. He then moved into leadership roles in political campaigns, including Field Director for the Ohio Democratic Party and State Director for Al Gore's presidential campaign. In 2004, he became CEO of New Visions Group, LLC, Ohio's first African American lobbying firm, which was acquired by Shumaker Advisors in 2022. There, he served as Senior Vice President, offering government relations expertise to clients.

As Chief Operating Officer, Lorie Holt uses her experiences from prior roles in non-profit leadership, where she specialized in areas like organizational growth strategies, account management and brand development, to guide the Chamber’s membership and retention efforts. Lorie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from The Ohio State University.

A Columbus native, Lorie enjoys spending her weekend mornings enjoying a stroll through the park with her husband, Jared, and their son, Oliver and their daughter, Annie.
